There's Still Some Left For You

What happens when we have nothing left to give? In Mark 6, we find Jesus and his disciples in exactly that place -- emotionally drained from grief, physically exhausted from ministry, and desperately in need of rest. Yet before they can catch their breath, a crowd of thousands surrounds them, and the demand only grows.

When we faithfully give what little we have, God does not leave us empty. The twelve baskets of leftovers may not have been an afterthought -- they may have been the point. God sees those who pour out for others, and he always keeps something in reserve for them. If we have ever served until we were spent and wondered whether anyone cared, this story speaks directly to that place in us.
